Terms of Use

By accessing or using Strays To Home ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform. These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia.

• You must be at least 18 years of age to register and use this Platform.
• You must be a Malaysian citizen, permanent resident, or foreign national legally residing in Malaysia.
• Veterinary clinic accounts must belong to a licensed veterinary practice registered with the Malaysian Veterinary Council (MVC).

• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
• You must provide accurate and truthful information during registration and identity verification.
• You may not create accounts for others or share your account with third parties.
• You must notify us immediately at support@straystohome.com if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
• We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

When posting a stray animal listing, you agree that:

• The animal is genuinely a stray or rescued animal in need of adoption — not a bred or sold animal.
• All information in the listing is accurate, including health status, vaccinations, and location.
• Photos submitted are your own or you have permission to use them.
• You will not request monetary payment from adopters in exchange for the animal.
• You will respond to genuine adoption enquiries in a timely manner.
• You will remove or update the listing promptly once the animal has been adopted.
• You consent to Strays To Home moderating or removing listings that violate these terms.

As an adopter, you agree to:

• Complete the Adoption Survey truthfully before contacting posters.
• Undergo and pass IC/identity verification before initiating contact with any poster.
• Meet pets only in safe, public locations or at a verified vet clinic.
• Never send money to any poster prior to meeting the animal in person.
• Provide a safe, legal, and caring environment for any adopted animal.
• Comply with all applicable Malaysian laws regarding pet ownership.

You must not use the Platform to:

• Post or facilitate the sale of animals for commercial breeding or profit.
• Misrepresent the health, age, or origin of any animal.
• Harass, threaten, or abuse other users.
• Impersonate another person, business, or veterinary clinic.
• Attempt to circumvent the identity verification system.
• Collect or harvest other users' personal data without consent.
• Post false or misleading information about a vet clinic or its services.
• Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose under Malaysian law.

Vet clinic accounts must:

• Submit a valid veterinary registration number and supporting documents during application.
• Only post listings for animals that are genuinely under their care.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date vaccination records on the Platform.
• Respond to appointment requests within 2 business days.
• Not use the Platform to advertise services unrelated to animal welfare and adoption.

Strays To Home reserves the right to revoke Verified Vet status at any time if a clinic fails to meet these standards.

All users must comply with applicable Malaysian legislation including:

• Animals Act 1953: Prohibits animal cruelty and abandonment. Abandoning a pet is a criminal offence.
• Veterinary Surgeons Act 1974: Veterinary services may only be performed by licensed practitioners.
• Wildlife Conservation Act 2010: Trading in protected wildlife species is prohibited.
• PDPA 2010: All personal data handling must comply with Malaysia's data protection laws.

All content on the Platform, including the Strays To Home logo, design, and original text, is owned by or licensed to Strays To Home. You may not reproduce, copy, or redistribute Platform content without written permission.

By posting content (listings, photos, messages) on the Platform, you grant Strays To Home a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display that content for the purpose of operating the Platform.

Strays To Home is a connecting platform and is not a party to any adoption agreement between users. We do not guarantee:

• The accuracy of listing information provided by other users.
• The suitability of any pet for a particular adopter.
• The outcome of any adoption arrangement.

To the maximum extent permitted by Malaysian law, Strays To Home shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Platform.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Platform at any time for breach of these Terms, fraudulent activity, or any reason at our discretion. You may close your account at any time from your dashboard settings.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email to registered users. Continued use after notification constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
